What is Telegram Drive?

Telegram Drive is the idea of using your Telegram account as a personal cloud drive. Telegram gives every account free, effectively unlimited storage inside Saved Messages; a Telegram Drive client adds the folders, search, previews and transfers that make it usable as a drive.

TG Drive is that client. It talks to Telegram over the official MTProto 2.0 protocol directly from the app, so no server sits between you and your files, and there is nothing to self-host, no database and no monthly bill.

Install without an APK: add it as a PWA

If you would rather not install an APK, TG Drive is a Progressive Web App. Open the web app on Android in Chrome, use "Install app" or "Add to Home screen", and it launches full-screen from its own icon with offline support — the same interface, no download.

Is the Telegram Drive APK safe?

The APK is built from the same client-side codebase as the web app and is published as a signed release on GitHub. The app ships no third-party analytics, no ad SDKs and no remote code loading, and it stores your Telegram session encrypted on the device rather than in plain text.

How to install TG Drive on Android

The Android build is a standard signed APK. Installation takes about a minute.

  2. If Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps for this one install.
  3. Open the downloaded file and tap Install.
  4. Launch TG Drive and connect your Telegram account using the setup guide (API ID, API Hash and phone number).

Do I need Telegram Premium?

No. A normal free Telegram account gives unlimited storage and 2 GB uploads, which is what TG Drive uses. Premium only raises the per-file limit.
